Many individuals with bipolar affective disorder receive a late diagnosis, and there is a higher risk of bipolar affective disorder for women presenting with onset of mental health problems in the postnatal period. This project aims to identify risk for bipolar disorder in women first presenting with mental illness in the perinatal period.<br/>
