Lay Summary :
The objective of this research is to identify the characteristics and needs of longer-stay patients in a Forensic Psychiatric Hospital. Consistent with this objective, this research aims to investigate whether admission characteristics (index offence leading to admission and legal status at time of admission), clinical factors (symptoms of mental illness and comorbidity with personality disorder) or patient behavioural factors (violent incidents on ward and lack of personal support) are associated with length of admission.
