Using an appreciative inquiry approach to hear the views and opinions of adults on the autism spectrum in shaping psychological therapy services

  • Applicant: Estelle Malcolm
  • Project ID: 19-006

In evaluating and developing NAAAPS we thought it was vital to include service users and carers to share their views and ideas in a way that was equitable. We aim to evaluate our service to explore what it’s like for people with an autism spectrum condition (ASC) and comorbid mental health problems to access and have psychological therapies (within NAAAPS), and increase their voice in shaping service development. As this is a service evaluation and development project it does not have research ethics or R&D. It has been awarded a grant by the Health Innovation Network to complete. The project was discussed with Megan Pritchard who suggested suggested that it will need Caldicott sign off. I was advised to complete the CRIS application and Murat Soncul will take this forward
