Inflammatory markers in Serious mental illness, a records-based project

  • Applicant: Emanuele Osimo
  • Project ID: 20-005

Multiple studies have provided evidence for raised inflammatory markers in the blood of patients with serious mental illness. However, it is unclear at what stage of illness this inflammation starts, or what part it plays in the pathophysiology of these diseases. The aim of this project is to test if inflammation is present from the start of serious mental illness and if it changes over time.
