Investigating the effects of cardio and non-cardio exercise on adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) | C4C

  • Applicant: Larisa Dinu
  • Project ID: 20-073

There are numerous limitations to current ADHD treatments (e.g. abuse potential, insomnia, tachycardia) and exercise has been proposed as an additional or alternative safe and effective treatment in children, but research in adults with the condition is lacking. This project will recruit 264 participants (81 healthy controls, 81 individuals with ADHD taking psychostimulant medication and 81 individuals with ADHD not receiving medication) to test whether cardio (cycling) or non-cardio (yoga) exercise have the potential to improve ADHD symptoms as a standalone or adjunct treatment.
