Antecedents of and responses to child maltreatment concerns in child and adolescent mental health services
Risk assessment is a routine part of child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS). Whilst there are numerous studies of antecedents of social services involvement with families, and studies showing associations between child abuse and subsequent mental health difficulties, presently very little is known about the factors that predict social services involvement for young people referred to child and adolescent mental health services. Even less is known about how CAMHS respond in such cases. CRIS is distinctively placed to answer these important questions.
