There is limited information and data about health outcomes after cardiac surgery for patients with mental health conditions compared to the general population in the UK. Using linked data, this study will investigate hospitalisation patterns and mortality associated with cardiac surgery in people with particular mental disorders compared to those reported from the SLaM catchment population.

The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system is a computer system that allows researchers at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to carry out research using information from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust clinical records.
