Social media, Smartphone use and Self-harm in Young People: Access to medical records
Self-harm is becoming increasingly common in young people and this has been linked to increasing use of social media and smartphone technology. The Social media, Smartphone use and Self-harm in Young People (3S-YP) study aims to explore how social media and smartphone use may increase the risk of self-harm in young people. Using the C4C process, eligible young people are being invited to consent to participate in the study (CRIS Project approval: 20-074). As part of the study’s consent process, participants are asked to provide consent for the study to collect information from their SLaM electronic health records (EHR) to link with the other study data. The purpose of this CRIS project application is to obtain approval to collect the information from participants’ EHRs using the CRIS system.
