Sociodemographic and clinical predictors of unemployment in patients with severe mental illness: cross-sectional study of large-scale electronic health records from London, UK.
It is important to better understand the predictors of unemployment for people with severe mental illnesses to allow clinicians and researchers to recognise who is most at risk of unemployment, identify where to focus employment support programmes, and may contribute towards an understanding of potential mechanisms underlying high unemployment rates in these populations. The present study aims to explore sociodemographic and clinical predictors of experiencing unemployment for patients with severe mental illness.
