A diachronic analysis of language in mental health records

Language changes over time, and the way in which mental health conditions are referred to is no exception. Analysing this change in mental health records will better help us understand how mental health conditions are perceived, and will inform the way in which we both use and process this language in the future.

The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system is a computer system that allows researchers at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to carry out research using information from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust clinical records.
