Exploring the relationship between autism spectrum disorder and borderline personality disorder diagnoses in clinical practice: co-prevalence, timing and demographic factors

Autism Spectrum Disorder and Borderline Personality Disorder can have similar features and be difficult to differentiate clinically. We will assess the frequency and timing of these diagnoses among patients who have been diagnosed with both conditions, and explore whether demographic characteristics influence patterns of diagnosis in clinical practice.

The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system is a computer system that allows researchers at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to carry out research using information from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust clinical records.
