Behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia increase the use of healthcare services and patients often present to services in crisis. This is distressing for patients and families and is expensive for healthcare services. We want to quantify the problem, explore its impact on services and identify associations and mitigating factors.

The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system is a computer system that allows researchers at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to carry out research using information from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust clinical records.
