Investigating association between psychotropic drugs and seasonal respiratory infection in mental health outpatients

We recently found that antidepressants might reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection, possibly by stopping the virus entering the airways. In this study we want to explore whether psychiatric medications might also play a role in other respiratory infections.

The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system is a computer system that allows researchers at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to carry out research using information from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust clinical records.
