Long-term effectiveness of IMPACT RCT in relation to health service utilisation (IMPACT CRIS)

The IMPaCT clinical trial comparing the IMPACT intervention (training and supervising care co-ordinators in community mental health teams in a health promotion intervention to help them support their patients with psychosis to make healthier choices regarding diet, exercise, smoking, alcohol, and drugs) to standard care showed no effect over 15 months. Our aim is to use the CRIS database to expand the scope of the trial to investigate whether there was a long-term benefit to the patients who participated in the IMPACT RCT and consider the wider effect of staff receiving IMPACT training on the health service utilisation of SLAM patients who have not participated in the trial.

The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system is a computer system that allows researchers at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to carry out research using information from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust clinical records.
