What happens to the Mental Health of Children and Young People whilst they wait for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services?

  • Applicant: Shuo Zhang
  • Project ID: 23-113

This project aims to understand factors that determine how a young person progresses as they wait for a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services assessment in order to identify opportunities to intervene early and improve clinical outcomes. Use routine healthcare data linked with education data, it will investigate whether racially minoritised children and young people do worse in terms of their mental health, engagement with healthcare and at school, and which combination of factors might put people more at risk, and whether support at school or at home whilst waiting might be protective.
