Long-term outcomes following liver transplant in patients with SMI.

  • Applicant: Catherine Polling
  • Project ID: 24-055

Past research has suggested that people with mental illness are more likely to die prematurely after liver transplant, however the studies have had unclear definitions of mental illness and not examined the cause of this mortality. This study will identify a cohort of people who have received a liver transplant at King’s (a national transplant centre) and compare long term outcomes for people with and without SMI.
