Uncovering sex-specific vulnerability to psychosis around midlife
Women become more vulnerable to psychosis when reaching midlife, yet the underlying mechanisms of this increased vulnerability remain unclear, as psychosis research has largely included young men. As a result, the impact of sex and the transition to midlife has therefore been overlooked. Analysing clinical data from Electronic Health Record can provide valuable insights into the manifestation and treatment of psychotic exacerbations. This project aims to enhance our understanding sex differences in psychotic vulnerability throughout the lifespan, with a particular focus on midlife.
