Associations and Outcomes of Referral for Community Mental Health Treatment among Patients Assessed and Discharged from Psychiatric Emergency Service

We will study patients assessed by the psychiatric emergency service but neither admitted nor home-treated. We aim to answer the following research questions: 1. Does community mental health treatment reduce repeated visits to the psychiatric emergency service? 2. Does community mental treatment reduce subsequent admissions? 3. What additional factors are related to these outcomes?

The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system is a computer system that allows researchers at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to carry out research using information from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust clinical records.
