Provision of mental health diagnoses for young people: a clinical record study in South London

  • Applicant: Stephanie Lewis

There is concern that many young people with mental health conditions are not identified and diagnosed by clinical services, and therefore do not have access to effective treatment; however, the extent of this problem is not well understood. In the proposed research project, we will compare data from clinical and community samples to quantify rates of mental health diagnosis provision for young people, in order to inform improved service planning for young people with mental health conditions.
