This study aims to determine the prevalence of the metabolic syndrome at baseline for patients with a first episode of psychosis. It aims to determine the rate of progression of metabolic (glucose and lipids) dysregulation over a 12 month period and to assess this in the context of medication use.

The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system is a computer system that allows researchers at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to carry out research using information from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust clinical records.
