Clinical application of non-adherence natural language processing tool
We have recently developed a technique to find out when people are described in their records as ‘non-adherent’ with treatments (see project ID 24-089) – this term is used to describe situations where people aren’t taking treatments in the way they are prescribed. We now plan to develop this tool so that it can be used reliably by mental health professionals in real-life situations to identify when people have become ‘non-adherent’ to specific medications in the past. This will allow professionals to be more aware of which treatments have been successful or unsuccessful in the past, which will inform their treatment plan.
