Investigating the effects of ePMA alerts for Anticholinergic burden

Several groups of medicines are associated with poor outcomes in older people, and it is important to identify these medicines and try to switch them to safer options. We have set up alerts on our prescribing system which will appear when older people are prescribed high risk drugs. We will assess whether these alerts lead to a reduction in use of harmful medications and find out what prescribers and other health professionals thought of the alerts through surveys.
