An Audit of the Clinical Documentation of Family and Parenting Status across Early Intervention Psychosis Services.

  • Applicant: Joanna Gibbons
  • Project ID: 25-130

The Trust does not know how many patients accessing support from the Early Intervention for Psychosis Teams are parents because this information is not routinely recorded.  This proposed research will enable us to find out how many patients using the Early Intervention Psychosis Teams have children, how many are actively parenting and whether this is documented in patient notes. This is important information for the Think Family: Parenting Well with Psychosis Project, which hopes that our training interventions will help clinicians in the Early Intervention Teams to routinely discuss and record information around parenting. We will then be able to complete this research again after the training has been delivered to see if there has been any improvement in the recording of this information.

The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system is a computer system that allows researchers at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to carry out research using information from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust clinical records.
