Clinical and service-use characteristics of young adults with a personality disorder diagnosis: a cross-sectional analysis
This study aims to build a clear picture of young adults who receive a personality disorder diagnosis in routine mental health care. By describing their backgrounds, mental health difficulties, treatments and use of services, the study will improve understanding of what young people’s needs look like at the point a diagnosis is recorded. Using de-identified electronic mental health records, the project will describe the characteristics of this group to inform future research and support clinical thinking about how best to recognise and support young adults with long-standing difficulties.
