How can we improve the care received by tourists who are admitted to SLAM in-patient services - Quantifying the issue and analysing delays in implementing discharge plans

This non-audit project will be quantifying the number of tourists admitted to inpatient SLAM services as well as additional information: Home country, sex and age. Mode of presentation – eg: via medical team, police Use of Mental Health Act Primary Psychiatric diagnosis during the admission Length of admission Need for translator Outcome of admission – eg: discharge with no follow-up, transfer to hospital in home country etc. Delays in discharge and reasons for this ie: after a definitive plan was agreed by the psychiatric team and patient, how long did it take for this to be put into place and if there were delays what were the reasons behind this.
