Evaluation of an intensive implementation programme of consent for contact in a mental healthcare setting | C4C
The Consent for Contact (C4C) programme enables patients receiving care from SLaM to give consent to be contacted to participate in research as part of clinical activity (Callard et al. 2014). A number of patient-level factors have been examined in relation to exposure status of being approached for C4C (Robotham et al. 2015; Papoulias et al. 2014, Patel et al. 2015 (in draft)), but evidence-base for service-level factors that promote implementation and predict patient outcomes is lacking. We aim to evaluate an intervention of having dedicated staff in clinical teams to support implementation of C4C in two London boroughs served by SLaM i.e. Lewisham and Southwark and compare the effects with a third borough in which no intervention took place i.e. Lambeth.
