Bridging the gap between trials and impact on patients in mental health: generalizing trial findings using routinely collected data

  • Applicant: Sabine Landau
  • Project ID: 17-040

Even results from pragmatic trials such as those funded by NIHR HTA may not be generalizable to populations of mental health service users who might be offered treatments in clinical practice. This project seeks to utilise routinely collected data, e.g. in electronic case record systems, to project trial results onto relevant clinical populations and so inform policy.

The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system is a computer system that allows researchers at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to carry out research using information from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust clinical records.
