The Routine Clinical use of MRI in the Diagnosis of Service Users Who Have Experienced First Episode Psychosis

Current NICE guidelines suggest the following-“Structural neuroimaging, using methods called magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or computed axial tomography (CT) scanning, is not recommended for use routinely to examine all people who have had a first episode of psychosis.” The aim of the study will be to evaluate the efficacy of the scanning of service users experiencing symptoms of First Episode Psychosis (FEP) with MRI.

The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system is a computer system that allows researchers at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to carry out research using information from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust clinical records.
