Outcomes following electroconvulsive therapy for severe depression

Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is recommended for the treatment of severe and life-threatening depression, where a quick response to treatment is required. This studies will investigate if those with severe depression as re-admitted to hospital less if they received ECT.

The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system is a computer system that allows researchers at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to carry out research using information from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust clinical records.
