Social information processing in adolescents with eating disorders: Implications for theory and clinical practice

  • Applicant: Katie Rowlands
  • Project ID: 18-070

The project aims to investigate whether some of the social / interpersonal difficulties experienced by a proportion of adolescents with eating disorders may be in part underpinned by biased cognitive processing of social stimuli, and whether adding an online cognitive training programme targeting these biases may be a helpful addition to usual treatment for these individuals. Participants with eating disorders will be assessed using a battery of baseline questionnaires and computerised tasks. Patients will then be randomised to receive either the online training programme alongside their usual treatment or treatment as usual only.
