A feasibility study of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for older people with treatment-resistant generalised anxiety disorder (FACTOID) | C4C
Generalised anxiety disorder (GAD) is the most common anxiety disorder in older people, and although psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy are recommended as first-line treatments, many older people fail to adequately respond to these interventions. This project aims to develop and evaluate a psychological intervention for older people with GAD who have not responded to treatment, based on a novel form of talking therapy called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
