A Mindfulness-based approach for adolescent non-responders to first line treatments of depression and their carers: establishing feasibility of implementation and delivery

1. Reasoning behind the project: We are planning a CAMHS-based RCT to evaluate a novel intervention for adolescents with persistent or recurring depression; to design the trial, we need to know the numbers of likely eligible young people, and what is routinely offered to such young people in CAMHS. 2. What the project will do The project will report on the current care pathways and treatments offered to young patients with depression who have not fully responded to previous treatments delivered by CAMHS services, or who have relapsed and been re-referred, and the numbers of young people seen in CAMHS over a defined period, in order to develop a detailed understanding of referral patterns and “treatment as usual” for this group.
