A qualitative study investigating how people with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome view recovery | C4C

  • Applicant: Tom Ingman
  • Project ID: 18-034

This study aims to explore unique and personal concepts of recovery from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome by interviewing individuals undergoing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in a secondary care, specialist service. We believe this project is important because if the themes underlying recovery in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome are better understood, the aims of treatment can be better explained to future patients and findings can potentially provide balance to the narrative that Chronic Fatigue Syndrome has ‘no cure’ (Ax et al, 1997; McDermott et al, 2011), thus provided hope to patients.
