A randomised feasibility trial of a patient app and health-record-integrated care team interface to facilitate shared decision making for people with bipolar disorders under maintenance care versus usual care (SDM-BD)

A study aiming to find out whether a new digital service can be used to improve treatment for people with a bipolar disorder. The service involves a smartphone app and has been developed with the aim being to encourage patients to play a more active role in their treatment together with their care teams. Participants who join the study will randomly allocated to either use the app alongside their usual treatment, or to continue their treatment as usual without using the app.

The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system is a computer system that allows researchers at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to carry out research using information from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust clinical records.
