A Study Into Self Esteem and Mental Health in Autistic Young People
Autistic young people may find it difficult to develop positive beliefs about themselves. This may have different impacts on their mental health, such as feeling anxious and feeling low in mood. More research needs to be done to find out how best to support autistic individuals with mental health difficulties. This study aims to understand more about the experiences of autistic young people who have had difficulties with their self-esteem. Data will be collected through two questionnaires, and a 90 minute semi-structured interview. The interview will be analysed using Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis (IPA).
