A Study Into Self Esteem and Mental Health in Autistic Young People
Autistic young people may find it difficult to develop positive beliefs about themselves. They may be more likely to experience mental health difficulties than someone who is not autistic. More research needs to be done to find out how best to support autistic individuals with mental health difficulties.
The project will recruit autistic young people between the ages of 13-18 who self-report difficulties with self-esteem. Participants will be required to complete 2 short questionnaires. Participants will then be required to take part in an interview with a member of the research team which will be analysed using qualitative data analysis.
