Advance Choice Documents for people with Eating Disorders (ACDED)

  • Applicant: Eleanor Breen O'Byrne
  • Project ID: 26-063

Advance Choice Documents (ACDs) allow someone with a mental health problem who has previously been detained to outline how they would like to be treated in a future crisis. Previous research has shown that ACDs can reduce rates of coercive practice, however there is little research on ACDs for people with eating disorders. This project hopes to develop resources which can support people with eating disorders to create an ACD.

The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system is a computer system that allows researchers at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to carry out research using information from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust clinical records.
