An Initial Service Evaluation of Accident and Emergency Frequent Attenders to Inform Future Clinical Audit

This is a service evaluation of individuals who attend Southwark (King’s College Hospital) Emergency Department on a frequent basis (and if data available Lambeth, St Thomas’s Hospital, Croydon University Hospital and University Hospital Lewisham). The purpose of this work is to identify themes underlying re-presentation with a view to identifying interventions which might reduce the rate of re-presentation.

The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system is a computer system that allows researchers at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to carry out research using information from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust clinical records.
