An investigation into the health outcomes of young people following an out of area psychiatric admission in child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS).
Due to high demand and low bed numbers, admissions at-distance or to a different region from a young person’s home are frequently used in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services; little is known about how being admitted further away from home affects long term health outcomes following an admission. This project will compare the long-term health outcomes of young people who experience at-distance/out-of-region admissions in CAMHS and compare them to those who are admitted locally.
