Aripiprazole/sertraline combination: clinical and cost-effectiveness in comparison with quetiapine for the treatment of bipolar depression. An open label randomised controlled trial.

There are currently limited treatment options available for people with Bipolar Disorder experiencing depressive symptoms and very little is known about using antidepressants in this population. This study is being done to test the effectiveness and usefulness of the combination of an antidepressant (sertraline) and an antipsychotic drug (aripiprazole) and compare this with an antipsychotic drug called quetiapine.

The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system is a computer system that allows researchers at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to carry out research using information from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust clinical records.
