Ascertaining clinical trajectories in CRIS

  • Applicant: Robert Stewart
  • Project ID: 19-064

Mental health outcomes in CRIS research tend to rely on those which can be obtained from structured information (e.g. service contact, hospitalisation, discharge) – these under-represent the extensive amount of information in text fields where symptoms are described as getting better or worse. This study will develop techniques to allow these statements to be automatically detected across CRIS, enhancing the range and scope of research studies using this resource.

The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system is a computer system that allows researchers at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to carry out research using information from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust clinical records.
