Ascertaining personality descriptions from clinical text

Aside from ‘personality disorder’ as a diagnosis, personality is frequently described in clinical records and personality traits are likely to be something that influence clinical outcomes; however, we can’t currently bring back that information at scale in CRIS. This study will develop natural language processing (NLP) techniques to extract and classify recorded personality traits from clinical text.

The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system is a computer system that allows researchers at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to carry out research using information from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust clinical records.
