Assessing equality of access to ED liaison services

  • Applicant: Catherine Polling
  • Project ID: 22-029

The RCPsych PLAN standards for psychiatric liaison teams include “Standard 159.1: The service reviews data at least annually about the people who use it. Data are compared with local population statistics and actions taken to address any inequalities of access that are identified”. This project aims to understand whether the people accepted by SLaM’s psychiatric liaison teams based in Emergency Departments reflect the populations served by each department, and whether there are differences in the outcome of assessment based on age, sex, ethnicity and deprivation.
