Associations between late-life depression and dementia

Depression and dementia are both common in old age and it remains unclear whether depression later in life increases the risk of developing dementia, or depression is in fact an early symptom of dementia, indicating the start of the disease. This project aims to investigate which factors and characteristics might contribute to depressed older adults going on to develop dementia.
