Behavioural Impulsivity in Clinical Samples | C4C
In this project, we would like to collect primary data using the Impulsiveness Scale Brief (BIS-Brief), an 8-item questionnaire in a control sample and in outpatient clinical samples including psychosis and ADHD. The purpose of this study is an exploratory comparison of different clinical populations. We have BIS-Brief scores from a large population of patients with JME, however without appropriate control and clinical groups, it is difficult to judge relative impulsivity levels. Individuals with ADHD, and psychosis have previously been shown to have highly impulsivity behavioural traits.12-15 Therefore, the use of these clinical populations will help to compare the severity of these traits in the JME population. This may help to aid treatment and therapy available to individuals with JME to help manage impulsive behaviours and therefore potentially combat some of the negative psychosocial outcomes associated with impulsivity in this condition.1
