Having a close relative (sibling or parent) with a neurodevelopmental condition such as autism spectrum disorder ASD) or ADHD increases the risk of either condition. Our aim is to examine the information about family history of individuals with autism or ADHD to estimate the extent to which there is an heritable risk. This will help address the questions individuals have when diagnosed, which include, what caused the condition and what is the risk of passing it on.

The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system is a computer system that allows researchers at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to carry out research using information from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust clinical records.
