Childhood adversity and pathways to care in first episode of psychosis

  • Applicant: Sheri Oduola
  • Project ID: 21-034

Research has shown that individual characteristics such as age, gender, ethnicity and adverse childhood experiences are known risk factors for onset of psychosis. However, the role of adverse childhood experiences in pathways to care is not well understood. In this study, we wish to find out: (a) which adverse childhood experiences influence pathways to care in first episode psychosis? (b) whether there are associations between childhood adversity and compulsory admission during first episode psychosis?
