Consideration of Wilson's disease within the psychiatric population

Wilson’s disease can present with many different symptoms and as such can be difficult to diagnose, studies have shown that those with primarily psychiatric symptoms have a longer time to diagnosis. This project will seek to review if Wilson’s disease is being considered in patients who are referred to a specialist psychiatric hospital by reviewing specific blood tests requested and reviewing symptoms that they presented with.

The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system is a computer system that allows researchers at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to carry out research using information from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust clinical records.
