CRIS-BadgerNet Neonatal: Mental health outcomes of mothers following exposure to their infant’s admission to neonatal intensive care units (NICU)

  • Applicant: Lauren Carson
  • Project ID: 19-014

Parents of infants admitted to neonatal intensive care units (NICU) may experience higher levels of distress, including increased anxiety, depression and trauma in comparison to parents of healthy infants. Using linked data, this project aims to explore whether admission of an infant to NICU is predictive of later mental health problems in the mother.
