Developing personalised risk prediction tools for young people with emotional disorders
Although emotional disorders such as anxiety and depression are commonly experienced by young people referred to child and adolescent mental health services, our ability to accurately identify individual young people at increased risk for poorer outcomes because of these symptoms remains relatively poor. By applying cutting-edge statistical techniques to routinely-collected healthcare information, the project will derive ‘risk calculators’ to improve clinical decision-making around the future course of illness for young people with emotional disorders, in order to support a novel stepped care model for these patients.
